Born of Haitian parents in Queens, New York, Richard Rouzeau was taken to Haiti at the age of three. Not long after, he began playing with a piano on his own and succeeded in mastering it enough to be used as a music writing tool that would later bring about several hit songs. These songs brought him great success and the recognition of some of the most revered musicians in the industry.

Since the late 80s and early 90s, Richard helped his band Papash make their legendary mark on the market with songs like Mwen Te Pati, Yon Ti Foli and Aprann Renmen. After a few years back to New York, he teamed up with Alan Cavé to produce Se Pa Pou Dat, the hit song on this artist's album of the same title that became a classic in the French West Indies such as Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe, etc..., and also in Africa.

After many contributions to the Caribbean music scene, Richard is now committed to releasing his first solo album Tanpere'ou in the first quarter of 2007. This project will constitute a blend of jazzy, funky and original Caribbean songs that's sure to please a wide variety of listeners. His new single Kouran Lavi is just a little taste of his talent as a singer, writer, composer, producer and even his new found interest in sound engineering. One of the best aspects of this project is the participation of renowned Haitian musicians such as: Dadou Pasquet and Laurent Cicéron of Magnum Band, Jacky Ambroise of Strings, Welmyr Jean-Pierre of Mozayik, Gary Josama of Tabou Combo and so many others.

Furthermore, because of the uncommon diversity of his musical influences like Marvin Gay, Vangelis, Michael Jackson, Malavoi, Stevie Wonder, Nestor Torres, The Fugees, Queen, Caribbean Sextet, Lionel Richie, just to name a few, Richard is producing upcoming new artists with a fusion of different musical styles like R&B, Hip Hop, Dance Hall, Rock, Konpa, Reggae and Roots, giving rise to a sound that is completely original.
